hello + welcome back (:
today’s title is inspired by a great song by the band The Naked & Famous to whom i got to see live about a year ago. they’re great pretty cool live, dancing & doing crazy stuff while they sing with really cool lighting + etc. anyways, for todays post i just want to take the time to quickly thank my good friend emily for being so kind to take these pictures for me! she does cute little rant videos on youtube, so go check her out at http://www.youtube.com/user/emiliu74 (:
there’s something about this outfit that just seemed so perfect for a place that contrasted it with beautiful green scenery from nature. i loved shooting inside this beautifully designed hidden pathway among these trees. the only thing i didn’t like about it were the fact that bugs could be anywhere and there were quite a few spider webs that i spied 😛 other then that, it was really fun to wear my very neutral toned outfit through the “trees”
so here’s my modeling attempt! i feel so silly when i take pictures where i’m actually posing, but these came out better then i expected, and hopefully in due time i will become more natural when it comes to my posing, that way the quality of photos will become even better (: if you have any tips or pointers, please please please let me know! 😀
if you go check out Emily’s youtube, you’ll see why i can’t help but to be smiling in this picture! she is so cute and playful i couldn’t help but to show some teeth (; in this picture i look so young, but i love it because me and Emily have known each other since we were like babies! and so its very nostalgic to spend time with her ❤
i’m so dedicated to blogging, i got wet for you guys (; (LOL bad joke?)

hugs + kisses,
hello + thanks for checking out todays post (:
i wanted to post a lifestyle post today, but i’m not ready for that one yet, so i thought i’d do another fashion post since those are always fun! todays outfit is something i’d wear to a concert or even on a night out with the girls somewhere a little edgy and fun. i love how well the dark shirt clashes with the elegant lace + any chance to wear my combat boots is a happy occasion in my book 😛 let me know what you think of this outfit and tell me how you would dress on an edgy night out with the girls!
excuse me for having such a silly face in this one, but the sun was beaming so brightly the day we filmed this!
as much as i love the sun, its hard to keep my already asian eyes big and smiley when its being attacked by the rays of the sun 😛
what i’m wearing
the jacket + dress in this outfit are both from Taiwan, i got them during a recent three month trip i did in Asia. the lace jacket i got from a cute little street vendor behind the green sogo department store in the east district of Taipei. the dress i got from a boutique also inside the east district in a plaza called “ding hao” this boutique uses the latest issues of vogue, harpers bazar, and nylon to create designer inspired pieces for an affordable price. they don’t brand their clothes so its technically not a knock off, and sometimes? they add to the designs and make it a little more street wear chic then couture, which for someone like me who gets intimidated when i have to wear fancy stuff, that’s heavenly! the boots are my moms from her earlier days when she first immigrated from Taiwan to California to study her MBA at Chapman University.
if you don’t like clashing the lace and dark edgy shirt like i do, you can always wear a cute cropped leather jacket or a cute clean cut blazer! the possibilities are so endless with a versatile dress like this one (: i’ve even worn this dress with converses + knee high socks before! it was so adorable.
thanks for reading guys!
hope you enjoyed,
hugs + kisses,
hello + welcome to my first official post!
today’s outfit is inspired by summer festivals where you just want to have fun and feel comfortable! i notice that my outfits get so much “lazier” during the summer, but at the same time so much more me! sure by the time august comes around i will be begging to dig up my winter coats but for now, let’s enjoy the nice sunny weather (;
i wore this outfit to my fidm graduation carnival last month and had so much fun in it! it was comfortable and i got to do everything the carnival had to offer. a lot of girls wore cute dresses and five inch heels or wedges, and although they looked cute at first, they ended up walking around barefoot in the dirt and flashing people when they tried to participate in the activities! so definitely remember to dress appropriate for the occasion 😛 i think that even if i was super chic like the girls in the heels, i looked just as cute and i had way more fun and was way more comfortable, which in my case is so much better then being “chic”!
sweater – thrifted
tank top – club monoco
shorts – vintage Levi’s 501 – cut, dyed + repurposed
shoes – thrifted
here’s a close up of the shorts & my Tory Burch Amanda Mini Crossbody in this beautiful turquoise color. i am personal a big fan of turquoise its just such a fun vibrant color yet it tends to be classy enough to not be obnoxious. a small crossbody like this is perfect for all summer festivals since it buckles, you don’t have to worry about losing anything, it hangs around your body so you can keep your bag safe at all times, and it is small so you won’t feel like you’re hauling around a big load of stuff.
of course depending on where you live, you can’t always where a giant knit sweater during the hot parts of the day. that is why i think its so important to have a basic black tank top that is versatile and covers you up enough to wear on its own. this one i got at club monoco a few seasons back but i also have similar tank tops like this from H&M, Top Shop, + Zara.
also, you might not realize, but these levis are huge on me, i’m normally a size 23-25 depending on the brand, and 501s run really big. but since i bought this particular pair vintage, they only had one size and it’s like a size 28! that’s why having a good belt meant for belting at the waist & not the hip is so important for anyone looking into thrifting and shopping vintage! for the most part vintage pants will be high waisted since that was the choice of style back then for women. therefore i really suggest you start investing in simple high waisted belts to add to your collections! i promise it’ll come in handy!
in case you don’t know where i got my title from… watch + fall in love with this song!
